Julia and Andrew did much of their wedding planning in separate states – Julia here in Minnesota and Andrew in California. There was no doubt in my mind that Julia, a graphic designer and art director at Target, was going to put together a gorgeous day. Beyond just aesthetics of their day (which were flawless), their wedding was full of meaningful moments. It was clear to everyone in attendance that this was more than just a party, it was the joining of two people to create a new family. Family played a huge role in the day, from the Matrons of Honor (Julia’s sisters), Best Man (Andrew’s brother), touching speeches by parents, and the locket Julia wore in memory of her dad.
The American Swedish Institute was a stunning backdrop for their reception. The weather was ideal for the outdoor cocktail hour and between the expansive grounds, the old mansion, and the more minimal Scandinavian extension building, it’s a treat to explore. We also snuck outside for five minutes of sunset photos which I’m so glad we did! It’s always worth it and usually our favorite portraits of the day.
We’re so thankful for the opportunity to know Andrew and Julia, and to photograph their incredible day. Congrats, newlyweds!
