The Second Half of Our Business

This is Tom. He’s my better half in life and a huge part of Rochelle Louise Photography. Did you know that? Once in a while, when I’m talking to friends or potential couples, they ask me if Tom comes with on wedding days to carry my bags or setup lights. If I laugh when I answer, it’s not at the person asking, but it’s because I can’t imagine Tom not being next to me on a wedding day shooting alongside me. He is so much more than a bag boy (and I’d like to point out that I carry my own bags, even if it looks like I’m crazy with a backpack and two cameras slung around me)!

We are a husband and wife team working alongside each other at each and every wedding we photograph. This means Tom is camera in hand, timeline in his back pocket, pinning¬†boutonnieres and helping streamline the wedding day. He does all of the guy’s getting ready photos and helps capture the all important candid moments throughout the wedding day. I love that we not only get to spend our weekend’s together getting to know the amazing couples we work with, but that our couples have the benefit of working with both of us. We have different strengths in our shooting styles – I am SO into details and Tom is really into candids. The beauty of having us together is that you don’t have to choose between the two – you get both of our strengths in one package for the entire day.

In the office, Tom edits sessions and we critique our work together to talk about how we can do things differently and better the next time around. He really has an entrepreneurial mind and so I love brainstorming and dreaming new ideas with him. I’ve always been told I’m a dreamer and now we’re dreaming big together! I so appreciate his passion for people and photography that really makes our husband and wife team complete. With every heartfelt wedding we photograph, it reminds us to never stop being newlyweds – be excited about who you’re married to, love each other well and the rest will fall into place.
