I am an adamant believer that our minds and bodies need time to rest and rejuvenate. For those of us living in cold winter climates, this winter has been particularly cold and snowy. In the midst of a season that feels like spring will never come, it’s easy to get discouraged by day after day of cold. I can only fight this so long before I need to get away – feel the sun on my face, ride with the windows down, wear sandals and dresses without thick tights. Over Valentine’s/President’s Day weekend, Tom and I escaped to San Diego. We went with absolutely nothing on our itinerary – free to roam and do whatever we felt like for four days.
One of our favorite things we did was to go stand-up paddleboarding, or as the Californians call it “S.U.P”. Otherwise, we explored neighborhood breakfast spots and caught some amazing sunsets. The goal of the weekend was to rest and recharge, and that’s exactly what we did. Enjoy some of my favorite photos from the weekend.
